The Associate of Science in Business Administration (ASBA) program is designed to develop business, management, and leadership skills. Graduates of the Associates program have the opportunity for roles related to accounting, finance and economics, business and entrepreneurship, or management. Alternatively, students have the choice to continue their studies and pursue a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA). The ASBA degree requires a total of 60 credit hours. A total of 60 credit hours includes 27 credit hours for CORE coursework, 24 credit hours for Business Administration major coursework, and 9 credits for the chosen concentration coursework in either, accounting, entrepreneurship, finance economics, or management. The BSBA requires a total of 120 credit hours.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the business administration major, the student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate general business knowledge including accounting, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, information systems, and management practice and theory
  • Demonstrate business leadership skills including ethics, self-confidence, and initiative
  • Demonstrate the ability to evaluate and understand risks, returns, effective decision making, critical thinking, process planning, and profitability
  • Demonstrate effective use of technology in solving business and managerial challenges
  • Demonstrate effective and professional written and oral communication skills
