INT 250 Power Transmission Systems
This course covers both AC and DC high-power transmission systems. Students will perform calculations and create characteristic curves for transmission line specifications such as current, voltage, power, and impedance. Voltage compensation will be covered at length, including the use of static var compensators and synchronous compensators. Students will also experiment with current control loops, Thyristor 3-phase bridges, and Thyristor 12-pulse converters. All theory will be reinforced with hands-on lab activities.
