Program Description:
The truck driving training program provides graduates with an excellent foundation for a truck driving career. Students are thoroughly tested on the road and through written exams to ensure that they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully and safely operate commercial vehicles.
The Class “A” Commercial Drivers License (CDL) course provides students with training to inspect and operate tractor-trailers and assume driving responsibilities on the road. Emphasis is placed on vehicle inspections, defensive driving, range maneuvers and motor carrier safety regulations and certification.
Admissions requirement:
- Valid Louisiana Driver’s License
- Minimum age of 18
ACCUPALCER Test Score not required
The Commercial Vehicle Operator program's total tuition/fees is $6,200
Requirements within the first week:
- Physical Exam
- Pass a Drug Test
- Obtain Louisiana CDL Permit
Employment Requirements:
- Students must pass the Louisianan CDL Class A examination
- Graduates less than 21years of age are limited to in-state driving
Employers may require a:
- Clean motor vehicle record
- Pass a drug screen
