SPED 4370 Instructional Methods for Students with Low Incidence Disabilities

This course discusses instructional methods and strategies for learners of different ages with a variety of low incidence disabilities. Particular focus is given to the medical nature of these disabilities, methods for teaching life skills and aiding childhood development, strategies for inclusion in general education classrooms, and skills needed to successfully transition to adulthood. Collaboration, assistive technology, transition, communication, and social skills are also addressed. Field experience may be required.
