Geography & Planning (B.S.)
Geography is about understanding the distribution of and relationships between human and natural landscapes. It includes gaining knowledge of physical landscapes (topography, natural resources, climate, etc.) and human activities (culture, economics, political systems, etc.). The Geography and Planning major prepares students to form their own ideas about how human activities can or should modify particular landscapes. In addition to taking courses on geographies of culture and the physical environment, students gain experience using modern technologies of data collection and mapping, including GIS technologies widely used in many industries. Students will have opportunities for internships and other visits with professionals in geography-related fields.
