Healthcare Informatics Certificate - Accelerated Online Program
Mission
The Healthcare Informatics Certificate allows students who have already completed a Master of Science Health Science degree the opportunity to complete a second concentration and obtain a graduate certificate for that additional course work AND to allow other students the opportunity to complete a concentration only (no degree) with a graduate certificate to document their efforts.
This certificate may be used to document professional development for use in the student’s workplace and may qualify graduate hours necessary for faculty positions in high schools community colleges or universities.
Admission Requirements
Admission requirements include all requirements of the UTRGV Graduate College plus:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a recognized international equivalent in a health related field OR other Bachelor degree and healthcare work experience.
- Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 semester credit hours.
- Two letters of reference
- Letter of intent
- Experience using Electronic Health Records is preferred.
