EM 100 Emergency Medical Technician

Students will master the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life-threatening emergencies. Students will develop the skills for interventions with the basic equipment typically found in an ambulance. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the certification exam from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and State of Indiana Department of Homeland Security EMS Division. Successful completion of the cognitive and psychomotor exam is required in order to be certified as an EMT in Indiana. Classroom hours: 64. Clinical hours: 34.
