SM 350 Sport Law and Risk Management

This course will explore the explosion of litigation in the sport industry and how it has impacted amateur and professional sport. Students will review the foundation of law including legal structure related to sport and types of law such as tort, contract, antitrust and how these laws impact the management of sport. Through the use of case studies students gain knowledge on how to eliminate unnecessary injuries and reduce the possibility of financial losses and successful lawsuits.
