BI 253 Biostatistics

Standard topics of elementary statistics: organization of data, normal distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression, chi-square and analysis of variance. Additional emphasis on selection of methods and applications to biology, particularly genetics and for undergraduate research. Use of appropriate software.

BI 141 and BI 142, or consent of instructor. Appropriate score on the mathematics placement exam or completion of MA 117.
