MAP 138 Medical Assisting Laboratory

Introduces the student to basic routine laboratory skills and techniques for collection, handling, and examination of laboratory specimens often encountered in the ambulatory care setting.

Prerequisite

Grade of C or higher in the following courses: class='sc-courselink' href='/en/catalogs/red-rocks-community-college/2019-2020/catalog/course-descriptions/bio-biology/100/bio-106'>BIO 106 (or BIO 201 & BIO 202) and HPR 178, MAP 120 and MOT 136. Some courses can be taken as a corequisite.

Corequisite

MAP 110, MAP 120, MOT 130 and MOT 136.

Notes

-  Documentation of at least two Hepatitis B immunizations are required before the start of this course. Wearing of a watch and appropriate scrubs or lab coat is required.
