PHL 2200 ANCIENT TO MEDIEVAL PHILOSOPHY

An introduction to the history of Western philosophy as a discipline. Students will examine the development of essential philosophical topics related to metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and aesthetics from Pre-Socratic philosophers to the late Renaissance. Among these are Plato, Aristotle, Boethius, Augustine, Aquinas and Machiavelli.
