MGT 6410 SEMINAR IN EMPLOYMENT LAW

This course will address the employment laws and regulations of New York State and the United States, and is designed to assist students in learning about, understanding and applying the employment laws in the workplace from small business environments to multi-national corporations. The class will be introduced to theory and current laws and regulations in employment law, and management of employees, as well as practical application, and topical/substantive issues in law and management, which will allow a student to enhance their knowledge for future communications, hiring/firing, discipline, promotion, and management of employees. Particular emphasis and analysis will focus on discrimination and anti-discrimination, retaliation, protected classes, disability law, leave policies, history and law of labor organizations, and the importance of diverse workplaces.
