Legal Studies Minor Required Courses

A minor in Legal Studies requires a total of 18 credits selected from the following approved list of courses – with a maximum of 3 credits at the 1000 level, at least 15 credits must be at or above the 2000 level, and no more than 6 credits may be taken in any combination of Criminology, Sociology or Political Science courses. Courses used to fulfill core major requirements may not be used towards the Minor (for example Business and Accounting majors cannot select BUS 2050 or BUS 2060 toward the Minor), except for the support courses (electives), which may be used toward both the major and minor. 5-year MBA Accounting degree students may only enroll in the minor by special permission.

1Business/Accounting Majors: May not utilize any core Business courses (BUS, ACC, ECO, FIN) toward the Minor, but may utilize any support courses (electives listed above with the prefix BUS) that qualify for credits toward Minor.

2Social Sciences: Student may take a maximum of six (6) credits in either the CRI or POS prefix in Social Sciences including a maximum of six (6) credits in any Political Science courses, toward the Minor.
