REL 3220 BEYOND NARNIA: THE FAITH & FICTION OF C.S. LEWIS

This course will provide an overview of Lewis' life in order to provide the historical influences for his literature. The course will then look at several works of Lewis and the various genres of literature employed by Lewis and his literary and theological legacy. After introducing Lewis' background, some of Lewis' works that may be discussed are Mere Christianity; The Problem of Pain; A Grief Observed; The Screwtape Letters; The Great Divorce. Finally, the course will discuss The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and it's place within the Chronicles of Narnia.
