NCLEX-RN Licensure

Upon completion of the nursing program, students will complete an application for licensure as a registered nurse and take the NCLEX-RN licensure examination. A component of the process is determination of “good moral character”. The application asks the applicant to indicate if the “applicant has been convicted of a crime or has committed an act which raises a reasonable question as to the applicant’s moral character." (Please refer to New York State Education Department, Office of Professions, Regents Rules, www.op.nysed.gov.) It is the student’s responsibility to seek legal guidance with any concern about meeting these criteria.
