BIO 1200 Anatomy and Physiology I

(formerly BIO 120)

Part I is a comprehensive, in-depth study of the human body encompassing basic concepts of cell structure and function, as well as general histology. An anatomical and physiological approach to each of the following systems is pursued with medical ramifications where applicable — integumentary, skeletal, muscular, reproductive, central and peripheral nervous systems along with basic concepts of development and genetics. A minimum grade of "C+" is required for Nursing. Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Care and Nuclear Medicine Technology majors require a grade of "C+" to progress in their respective programs. Three lectures and two lab hours per week.

Prerequisite

Minimum of 26 on the Reading subscore of the EBRW section of the SAT Exam or a 20 on the reading section of the ACT is required to enter this course or completion of ENG 0900 or ENG 1010 with a "C" or better, as well as high school biology.
