PE 158 Core Training

This course is a combination of core/plank/Pilates type exercises on the floor and physio ball exercises using the medicine ball and weights. The core refers to the muscles of the torso from the lower rib cage to below the beltline. These muscles stabilize the spine, pelvis and shoulder and provide a solid foundation for movement in the extremities. Stronger, balanced core muscles help maintain appropriate posture and reduce strain on the spine. Brief discussions on posture and muscle toning are offered.
