SOC 401RI Sociology of Disney

The Disney Corporation is one of the most�well-known American corporations in the world.�Among sociologists and cultural critics, it is the�locus of interest on American popular culture.�This course is an exploration into the cultural�phenomenon of Disney. Students will explore�sociological theories on theme parks and culture�of Disney. Additionally, students will spend time�on-site at the Magic Kingdom where they will apply�course concepts to an on-site final exam and�gather for a class presentation. This course is�research-intensive and satisfies the experiential�learning requirement.
