MSC 550 Marine Microbiology
This course focuses on the bacteria, archaea,protists and viruses that play fundamental rolesin marine systems. The organisms and theirprocesses as they relate to biogeochemicalcycling, food webs, pollutants and human healthwill be discussed. Biodiversity and evolution, asthey relate to ecological considerations will alsobe addressed. Peer-reviewed research and reviewarticles will form the basis of the readings.
