MKG 785 Dissertation I/Applied Research I

This course is an independent application ofresearch, design, and methods that leads to thecompletion of an original research study underthe guidance of the student's doctoral committee.Throughout the development, implementation, andevaluation of the dissertation project, thestudent should meet regularly with his/herdissertation chair. As necessary, the studentshould also meet with other members of his/hercommittee to review specific portions of theproposal as appropriate to their expertise.Periodic revisions should be circulated to allmembers of the committee upon approval of thecommittee chair. Revisions should be noted in acover memo to the committee members such thatthey will be kept up to date. When the study iscompleted and ready, final approval must bereceived, in writing, from the chair of thedissertation committee with agreement from allmembers of the committee. This process must becompleted at least one month prior to theproposed date for the dissertation defense. Withthe designated approval, the defense date willthen be scheduled.
