HIST 355 Argentina
A survey of modern Argentine history from the endof the colonial period to the present day. Thecourse will explore the legacy of Argentina's pathto independence, centralism and federalism in theformation of the state during the nineteenthcentury, economic development and modernization,authoritarian rule and struggles fordemocratization, foreign relations, populism,Peronism as a political movement, and recentchallenges to the state and neo-liberal policies.
