MECN 4305 Engineering Materials
Analysis of metal hardening mechanisms. Evaluation of the mechanical, thermal, electrical, magnetic and optic behavior of materials. Study of the kinetics of phase transformations. Emphasis on steel heat treatments. Includes the study of structures, properties and applications of metals, ceramics, semi conductors, polymers and composites. Requires 45 hours of lecture and 30 hours of lab.
