BIOL 344 Pathophysiology

Examines specific diseases from a physiologic and developmental perspective. Mechanisms of disease, etiology, manifestations, analyses of laboratory data and primary medical and surgical interventions are reviewed. This content serves as a foundation for addressing therapeutic interventions related to specific disease states. This course is for nursing majors and does not fulfill a requirement in the biology major. For science majors, permission of instructor required. Accelerated nursing students may take BIOL 207 concurrent with this course with the permission of the instructor. Prerequisites: BIOL 206 and BIOL 207; BIOL 210; CHEM 105 or CHEM 107/CHEM 107L and 108/CHEM 108L or CHEM 109; NURS 134*, NURS 234*. (* See prerequisite for NURS 134 and NURS 234)
