PHYT 7279 Functional Gait

The purpose of this course is to impart to clinicians the concept of assessing and treating gait dysfunctions using the philosophy, principles, and procedures of PNF, Back Education and Training, and the Functional Mobilization Series. Functional Gait expands on this traditional evaluation format by incorporating manual assessment of structure and motor control. This manual assessment enables the therapist to more effectively analyze and treat the dysfunctional components of the patient's gait. A component framework of assessment and treatment provides both the therapist and the patient a more specific and comprehensive approach to the enhancement of gait.Completion of the IPA workshop, Functional Gait is a prerequisite for this course.
