HIST 5355 Rome: Republic to Empire 146BC-476AD
(3-3-0) An examination of Roman history from the Late Republic to the collapse of the Western Roman Empire. Emphasis will be placed on the social, political, religious, and intellectual development inthe Roman world from the end of the Third Punic War to teh demise of Roman political authority in Western Europe. Attention will be given to the contributions of this culture in the areas of government, scientific development, philosophy, religious thought, and the art of war.
