EDEC 265 Leadership & Professionalism in Early Childhood Education with Lab

This course focuses on the early childhood profession including awareness of value issues and ethical issues in working with children and their families, legal issues, issues of salary and status, staff relations, and the importance of becoming an advocate for upgrading the profession and improving the services for children. During this AAS capstone course, students complete a comprehensive oral interview, program portfolio, and engage in an advocacy project. Students and the instructor will develop an individual training plan with goals and activities based upon the student’s demonstration of competence in working with young children.
