Course Description

Upon completion of this course, the student will:

  1. Analyze sound nursing judgment to provide clinically competent nursing care by incorporating clinical reasoning skills and theoretical knowledge in patients with: fluid, electrolyte, acid-base analysis; pain; cancer; surgical; endocrine; cardiovascular; respiratory; and immune disorders.

    1. Apply comprehension of medical diagnoses, treatment, and nursing care of clients in healthcare settings.

    2. Use physical assessment techniques and health data to evaluate the client on an ongoing basis.

    3. Analyze nutritional and pharmacological requirements for clients with various medical-surgical disorders.

    4. Apply theoretical knowledge and principles of clinical reasoning when providing nursing care for clients in healthcare settings.
