Measurable Performance Objectives (MPOs)
Upon completion of this course, the student will:
- Create, format, and print documents suitable for mailing using computer software.
- Center text horizontally.
- Identify and correct typographical and spelling errors.
- Write memos suitable for distribution.
- Write business letters suitable for mailing.
- Prepare business documents that meet industry standards.
- Demonstrate how to format personal titles and complimentary closings in business and personal-business letters.
- Use the keyboard to input text and numbers.
- Demonstrate how to keyboard by touching the letter (all letters), figure, and symbol keys with acceptable techniques.
- Manipulate parts of a keyboard such as the enter key, tab key, space bar, control (ctrl), and shift keys.
- Prepare and format various types of tables.
- Plan, create, and edit word processing tasks such as letters, reports, tables, memos, and related business communications.
- Write, format, and keyboard business letters in block, modified-block, single-page, and multi-page formats.
- Write, format, and keyboard one-page simple reports and multi-page reports with bullets, numbered lists, enumerations, indentations, and pagination.
- Create and edit memos.
- Identify proofreader's marks when proofing copy.
- Write business letters with bullets and numbered lists.
- Write personal and/or business letters, memos with lists, and letters with copy notations.
- Write and format multi-page rough-draft business reports.
- Identify keyed copy, and correct errors.
