HL 330 Health Informatics

Health informatics covers the use of information technology to support operational, managerial, and clinical decision making in a healthcare organization. This course provides students with an understanding of informatics and its healthcare applications, including how systems are integrated. Emphasis is placed on the importance of security, privacy, and confidentiality of patient data. Students will gain knowledge of electronic medical records and their requirements of integration and interoperability. Students will become familiar with the use of mobile health technology, telemedicine, and wearable mobile devices.
