HIST 220 Historical Research and History Careers

The course will introduce students to the goals, methods, and practices of historical scholarship and help them explore career and graduate school options related to their major.  Students will learn research methods, writing practices including Chicago-style citation, oral presentation techniques, and basics of statistical analysis and presentation.  Students will practice these skills as they formulate a research topic, complete a research paper, and present their research to an audience.  History majors must complete this course with a minimum of a “C.”
