ECE 150 Introduction to Multimedia DSP

This course is a hands-on Introduction to Digital Signal Processing applied to Multimedia signals: video, images, music and voice. Topics include compression, enhancement and restoration of multimedia signals. Spectrum representation, Sampling and Aliasing, FIR and IIR filters, the Z-Transform, Spectrum analysis. It studies the application of DSP in areas such as biotechnology, medical imaging, economic forecasting, telecommunications, scientific imaging, materials science, weather forecasting, seismic data processing, analysis and control of industrial process, aerospace and defense, remote sensing, computer-generated animation, etc.
