EDU-105 Foundations of Education

Examines the role education plays in the world and in individuals' lives. Using a variety of teaching strategies such as texts, films, news stories, historical documents and field trips, the course covers the people, events and ideologies that have shaped educational practices. An emphasis will be placed on socioeconomic, political, and philosophical influences on schools. Requires 20 hours of field work.
