MECE 2340 Engineering Materials

An introduction to the atomic crystallographic and microstructural characteristics of solids and the relationship of these characteristics to the engineering properties and behavior of metallic, polymeric, and composite materials. Course focus is on engineering applications of materials science and includes an introduction to fracture mechanics, corrosion, and composite micromechanics.

A grade of 'C' or better in CHEM 1309 and CHEM 1109 or CHEM 1312 and CHEM 1112, and credit/registration in MECE 2140.
