Program of Study - Health Sciences with a Concentration in Healthcare Informatics (MS) - Accelerated Online Program
Purpose
The MSHS with a concentration in Healthcare Informatics is a 100% online accelerated program that prepares the graduate to manage, evaluate, and use health data in order to support informed decisions with the goal of improved patient outcomes. A student with little to no background in healthcare will gain an overview of informatics as it relates to healthcare delivery. Increased demand for US health informatics personnel is a result of the need for expanded healthcare access and the improvement of quality care, while reducing costs. Health informatics professionals interpret health information through the use of information technology and can hold various professional titles, such as clinical systems analyst, clinical informatics specialist, health information manager, and informatics nurse.
