ENG-163 Latinx Literature Today

This course offers an introduction to contemporary Latinx/e literature through the study of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, art, and music by writers of Latin American descent. Students will read and discuss a diverse range of texts while considering questions of identity, language, culture, history, and representation, including the history and use of the term Latinx/e. Through informal, formal, and creative assignments, students will develop ways of engaging both the literature and some of the social and cultural issues shaping Latinx/e communities today.
