Nursing, Bachelor of Science – LPN to BSN
BSN Completion Students: Applicants who hold an active, U.S. LPN license and wish to receive a bachelor’s degree may apply for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program as a BSN completion student.
- Proof of an unencumbered license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the U.S. Completion students must possess a current, active Virginia or compact state LPN license
- An associate’s degree or diploma from a school of nursing
- Submission of all official transcripts from colleges and nursing programs attended
- A CGPA of 3.0 or higher on college transcripts. Students who do not meet this requirement may be considered for admission with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 in the last calendar year in which the student earned 12 at least credits.
- Two letters of reference from an academic or professional source
- A personal statement regarding the reasons for pursuing a baccalaureate degree
- A criminal background check at the student’s expense
The clock hours remain constant for both pre and post-licensure students, but the nature of those hours may be modified for the student holding an active LPN license.
