RNSG 2025 Family Nursing
This course focuses on the safe, compassionate, evidenced-based care of women during their reproductive years and of children from birth through adolescence. The promotion of wellness, restoration, and maintenance to the changing needs related to these populations are emphasized. The nursing process will be utilized, incorporating critical-thinking skills in the management of care and education for these patients and their families. Pharmacologic principles as they relate to the obstetrical and pediatric patient will be utilized. Essential nursing science, biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual and culturally sensitive principles will be incorporated. Supervised clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient facilities as well as obstetric and pediatric simulations, will provide the student with opportunities to meet course competency outcomes.
This course is required for students enrolled in the LPN/Paramedic Bridge ASN Option, LB13, and the Traditional ASN Option, NG73.
