Equine Studies Pre-Veterinary Science - B.S.

The Equine Studies Pre-Veterinary Science B.S. program serves the needs of the local area by providing educational opportunities not offered anywhere else in the state and few offered within the United States due to the current equine resources available on campus.

This Pre-Vet Science program is solely focused on equine and/or large animal veterinary science. This degree plan will allow the department to attract a more diverse student population and will allow students who are interested in attending Veterinary Medical School to become an Equine Vet to complete courses requiring hands-on experience with horses that will make these students more competitive. Students opting for this Pre-Vet degree will have a requirement to work at the barn for two full semesters as all equine majors are required but will not have to complete a gateway process for this specific degree plan.
