MSS0002 Introduction to Massage Therapy (CCP)
This course provides an overview of healthcare occupations and the roles and responsibilities of the healthcare team, with emphasis on legal and ethical guidelines, consumer rights, communication skills, safety procedures, infection control and bloodborne diseases. Students will examine the healthcare environment, including teamwork, wellness, disease, professional behavior and written communication. The course also introduces fundamental massage therapy skills aligned with Florida training requirements and emphasizes the development of self-care strategies, body awareness, movement habits and safe, hygienic practices to support practitioner and client well-being.
