ISAT 1103 Programmable Logic Control I

This course introduces the basic theory, operation and programming of programmable logic controllers. Students will
demonstrate how to connect to a PLC and basic network, the use of industry software for programming and monitoring
PLC behavior, basic programming with ladder logic, Boolean logic, digital numbering systems, input/output configuration,
PLC & motor control wiring & print reading, PLC counters and timers, sequencing and basic troubleshooting. This course
will use lecture, lab, online simulation and programming to prepare students with introductory knowledge of PLCs for
working in the field as an installation and troubleshooting PLC technician. Students will attempt certification assessment
through SACA, C-207 Programmable Controller Systems 1.
