Nutrition Studies Certificate

17-18 Credits

The Nutrition Studies Certificate provides an in-depth study of nutrition. It includes the study and application of nutrition principles in a variety of diverse populations and communities. This certificate will prepare students to work in areas where the knowledge and skills of nutrition are required. For example: Women, Infants and Children (WIC) assistants, nutrition aides, nutrition assistants, and health coaching and hospitality workers. It also provides a pathway to the AAS in Dietetic Technology, where students learn direct patient/client nutrition care. The certificate will also transfer to a variety of colleges and universities where students can continue their education in dietetics, nutrition, food science, or other healthcare-related fields.

Other Certificate Requirements

  • Earn a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 for college-level coursework (courses numbered 1000 and above) completed at Normandale.
  • Earn at least one third of the required certificate credits from Normandale.
