Age of romanticism as expressed in the lives and works of the great tone poets- Paganni, Berlioz, Chopin, Schumann, Lizst, Wagner, Verdi and Brahms. Growth of program music and such typical romantic forms as the Lied, music drama, symphonic tone poem, solo concerto, nocturne, impromptu and prelude.
