NUR 6310 ADULT GERONTOLOGY ACUTE CARE I PRACTICUM
This is the first in a sequence of three clinical courses exploring advanced clinical practice with selected adult-gerontologic patients in acute care settings. The student will be supervised participating in the assessment, diagnosis, and collaborative management of patients encountered across the continuum of acute care settings ranging from disease prevention to acute and critical care management. This course requires 180 hours of clinical precepted fieldwork in an acute care setting including participation in innovative selected case-based patient simulation scenarios; patient focused notes, case study presentation and scholarly extended patient write-ups and simulated competency assessment satisfy course goals.
