OMT 215 Medical Office Practices

 This course introduces the knowledge and skills necessary for the nonclinical medical office worker to support administrative procedures in a medical environment. Through computer simulated assignments, students will apply critical thinking skills to familiarize themselves with medical office procedures. Content includes reception, in person and on telephone; scheduling appointments, laboratory work, and hospital stays coding; creation and maintenance of patient files; and working in a computerized medical office. Lecture three hours per week.
