BIO 3350 Histology and Micro Techniques

(formerly offered as BIO 3300 for 3 credits)

Study of the basic organization of human cells and tissues. Students will identify the major cell and tissue types and describe their characteristics, functions, and anatomical locations within the context of the body systems. Principles and application of tissue preparation, sectioning and basic staining techniques for microscopic examination are included. Advanced microscopy techniques will be introduced. Three lecture and two lab hours per week.
