NUR 3290 Humanistic Nursing Care of Adults II: Increasingly Complex Health Issues

This Level III theory and clinical course focuses on the professional nurse’s role in the care of adults in the acute care setting. The theory component will explore humanistic nursing practice for clients experiencing more complex acute and chronic health care problems. The clinical experience will focus on the application of the nursing process, decision-making, and critical thinking as related to the biological, psychological, spiritual, and socio-cultural needs of the acutely ill adult client/family. This 6 credit course allocates 3 credits to lecture and 3 credits to clinical for a total of 112.5 hours/semester one 12-hour day/week.
