The US Department of Education requires that any institution offering distance education to students outside of its home state must acquire authorization from the states in which students reside. Regulations vary from state to state. Molloy has been approved by New York to participate in the National Council for State Authorization and Reciprocity Agreements. NC-SARA is a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of post-secondary distance education. The consortium provides reciprocity to member states relative to being an education option for residents of member states. As a participating institution, Molloy College may offer online programming to students in other SARA member states. For a complete list of member states, visit http://nc-sara.org/sara-states-institutions.
