Writing-Intensive Course

This course introduces students to qualitative and quantitative social work research methods by providing an understanding and appreciation of the scientific, analytical and ethical approach to building knowledge for practice. The course prepares students to develop, use and effectively communicate empirically based knowledge, including evidence-based interventions. Emphasis will be placed on how research knowledge is used to provide high-quality services; to initiate change; to improve practice, policy and social service delivery; and to evaluate one's own practice.
