CRJ 2630 Corrections: Philosophies, Methods and Programs

(formerly CRJ 263)

This course will examine the origins, development and evolution of traditional and non-traditional American correctional systems. The correctional philosophies ranging from punishment to rehabilitation and reintegration will be examined. The implementation of these philosophies and the effectiveness of historical, contemporary and futuristic correctional initiatives will be evaluated.
