Fundamental principles of modern inorganic chemistry. Includes atomic and molecular structure; bonding; solids, liquids and gases; solutions; periodic relationships of the elements. Three lecture hours and one 2-hour lab per week.

Prerequisite

High school chemistry within the past 3 years or college chemistry courses. SAT math scores above 490 or a 19 on the math section of the ACT; and/or passed Regents Courses I and II; minimum of 26 on the Reading subscore of the EBRW section of the SAT Exam or a 20 on the reading section of the ACT is required to enter this course, or completion of ENG 0900 or ENG 1010 with a "C" or better. Satisfies general education.
